Creating Layered Scene with Stampin Up's High Tide stamp set

To view on YouTube, click HERE.

Hi everyone!  For today's card, I wanted to create a fun, layered scene using Stampin' Up!'s High Tide stamp set.  This is a card that looks super complicated to make, but once you see it done step by step, it's super easy to do.  Here are some pictures:

To create this card, I started off with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 3 3/4" by 5".  I next cut out an oval (the largest oval) from the Stitched Shapes die set out of Whisper White cardstock.  I added a tiny amount of snail adhesive to the back of the oval, then ran my finger over it to get the sticky off.  Then, I stuck the white oval down on top of the white rectangular piece of Whisper White cardstock (I off centered it to the left).  Next, I stamped my lighthouse onto the oval piece.  I stamped the more detailed image (the first step of the stamp) with Night of Navy ink.  I then stamped the second step (the less detailed image of the lighthouse) with Sahara Sand ink.  Next, I stamped the sand using Crumb Cake ink.  I then turned the stamp around and kept stamping until the entire bottom of the panel was stamped with sand.  Next, I stamped the lighthouse and the sand onto some post it notes and cut them out for masks.  I layered the masks over the sand and lighthouse.  I then took a large post it note and covered up the sky (which created my horizon line).  I then stamped the ocean, first with Pool Party ink and then with Pacific Point.  Then, I lightly sponged Pool Party ink using a Stampin' Sponge onto the top portion of the cardstock panel (the "sky").  Next, I stamped the birds with Early Espresso ink.  I stamped the light coming from the lighthouse with So Saffron ink (I stamped off once, then stamped it onto the cardstock).  I also stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy ink.  After that, we were done with the stamping.

Next, I layered an oval (cut from the Layering Ovals die set) out of Night of Navy cardstock behind the white oval panel, then set that aside for a moment.  I created a card base out of Crumb Cake cardstock which is a top folding card base, measuring 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" when folded.  I then layered the rectangular piece of Whisper White cardstock on top of a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, which was cut at 4" by 5 1/4".  I then layered that panel on to the card base.  Next, I brought my oval panel back over and stuck some dimensionals on the back.  I wound some silver metallic string along the back, and then stuck the panel down onto the card.  What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today.  Don't forget I am offering an online card class using this stamp set.  To see all the details on that class, please click HERE.  The deadline for registering for this class is tomorrow, Monday, July 2 at noon EST (email me at christinemriley@gmail.com if you wish to enroll in the class).  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  I'll link below to every item I used to create today's card.  Thanks so much!  Big Hugs!

Fabulous Flamingo Card

To view on YouTube, click HERE

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and easy, but fun and bright card to share with you today using Stampin' Up's Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  You guys know I love two step stamping and I love how for this particular image, you get to layer four stamps on top of each other to create this beautiful flamingo. And,  as I show you in the video, you can do it without a stamping tool!!!  Here's some pictures of my card:

To create this card, I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 3/4 by 4".  I hen stamped the thickest, largest image in my darkest pink color, in this case, Lovely Lipstick (one of our brand new incolors).  Next, I stamped the outline of the legs in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Next, I stamped the second fullest image in my lighter pink color, in this case, Flirty Flamingo.  Finally, I stamped the detailed top image with Memento Black ink.  I then stamped the water in Balmy Blue.  I then created my card base, which was a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4 (to create a standard A2 sized card).  I layered a piece of Whisper White cardstock inside the card base to write my message (this piece measures 4 by 5 1/4.  Next, I cut a piece of designer paper from the Garden Impresssions 6x6 designer series paper stack to 4 by 5 1/4.  I then adhered some thick Whisper White Baker's Twine to the designer paper, then adhered the designer paper to the card base.  I next cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 2 7/8 by 4 1/8.  Next, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 1 3/4 by 1 and then staped the sentment, first in Versamark ink, then into Lovely Lipstock.  I then coated it with clear embossing powder, and then heat it with my heat gun (this is a cool technique which lets you heat emboss in any color).  I then adhered the sentiemtn strip to a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 1 7/8 by 1 1/8.  I placed some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back and then stuck some rose metallic gold thread behind it and then stuck it to the card base,  Finally, I added some rhinestones for a finishing touch.  What do you think?

Well, that's it from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today's card.  I will link below all the supplies used to create this card.  Also, don't forget to sign up for this week's online card class (click the "classes" tab at the top of my blog for all the details).  Hugs!

Christine

Quick Thank You Card and a Giveaway!!!!

To view on YouTube, click HERE.

Hi everyone!  I'm so sorry I was unable to do my Facebook Live last night, I was feeling under the weather.  I decided to do a quick video today sharing the super simple card I was going to make during the live and I also have a giveaway for you as well (to be eligible to win, just leave a comment on the video on YouTube by 9pm EST on Sunday, July 1).  Here's today's card:

I love the new Abstract Impressions stamp set and I wanted to share how easy and quickly it is to create a beautiful card with this stamp set.  To create this card, I first cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 3/4 by 5".  I then stamped my sentiment with Highland Heather ink and the swoosh under the sentiment with Gorgeous Grape. I then stamped the first step of the flower with Highland Heather stamped off.  I then stamped the second step with Highland Heather full strength, and then stamped the third set with Gorgeous Grape.  I stamped the butterfly's body with Memento Tuxedo black, then the two steps of the wings with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. I stamped the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.  I then adhered the stamped panel to a piece of Highland Heather cut at 4x5 1/4 and then adhered that to my card base, which was cut from Gorgeous Grape cardstock and measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.

This was a super simple card to put together, but I think it came out quite nice.  I hope you love it :)  I'll link for you below all the products I used to create this card.  Also, don't forget to sign up for  my current online card class using the High Tide Stamp set (details for that class can be found HERE).  Thank you all so much for stopping by!  Big Hugs!

Quick and Easy Card Using Stampin' Up!'s High Tide Stamp Set

To view on YouTube, click HERE.

Hi stampers!  Today, I have a fun card and video tutorial sharing how I put this sweet but simple card together.  Here's a picture of the card:

To create this card, I first cut a stitched oval out of the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies set (I used the largest oval in the set) out of Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the base of the lighthouse in Bermuda Bay ink and then stamped the second step in Basic Gray ink.  I then stamped the sand in Crumb Cake ink.  I then cut out a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals framelits dies set out of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Next, I adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay DSP from the Brights 6x6 paper collection (this piece of DSP measures 4" by 2") and adhered it to a piece of Pool Party cardstock, which measures 4" by 5 1/4".  Next, I stamped the birds in Basic Gray ink and then stamped my sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink.  I then adhered a piece of Burlap ribbon around the DSP and Pool Party panel.  I then adhered the entire Pool Party panel to a standard A2 sized card per base (4 1/4 by 5 1/2) which was made out of Bermuda Bay cardstock (I also placed a piece of Whisper White cardstock inside the card for writing your message).  Next, I placed some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of my oval panel and then adhered some Silver Metallic thread to the back.  I then adhered the oval panel down to the card base.  For a finishing touch, I added a few Metallic Silver pearls.  What do you think?

This stamp set will be part of my new Online Card Class, so look for another post from me today announcing that card class and providing you all the details.  I love this stamp set, the possibilities are plentiful.  Thanks so much as always for stopping by.  I'll link below all of the products I used to create this card.  Big Hugs!!!!
